I’m Umid, and my story begins in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. Ever since I was a little boy, I’ve loved creating things. I remember putting on shows with the kids in my neighborhood and throwing some pretty amazing parties! My childhood was a happy one, filled with family gatherings in the Fergana Valley, trips to museums and musicals in Tashkent with my parents, and, of course, those unforgettable Sundays spent enjoying ice cream and cakes.
When I turned 20, my curiosity about the world led me to the UK. I was fascinated by different cultures and traditions, so I took the leap and moved there. I ended up spending almost 20 years in cities like Oxford, Cambridge, and Brighton, with my last five years in London. I worked in hospitality and even managed a Jamie Oliver restaurant, which taught me so much about numbers, sales, and, most importantly, people.
As much as I loved hospitality, my passion for travel and creating never faded. One day, I decided it was time for a new adventure and booked a backpacking trip to Southeast Asia. I thought I was booking for two weeks, but to my surprise, I’d actually booked for two months! At first, I panicked, but canceling wasn’t an option. So, I embraced it-and ended up staying even longer. It was during that trip that I really started exploring photography and videography, and I quickly realized how much I loved it.
When I returned to the UK, I knew I wanted a change. I dreamed of living somewhere warm and sunny, and after a lot of thought, I chose Mallorca. I’ve been here for almost four years now, and I absolutely love it. Summers are for swimming at beautiful beaches, while autumn and winter are perfect for hiking in the mountains and mushroom picking. The people, the food, the atmosphere-it all feels just right.
Mallorca is also where I started Revvind, my little photography and videography venture covering Mallorca and Barcelona. My style is simple and documentary, with just a hint of posing. My goal is to put you at ease and capture beautiful, timeless moments-no fuss, just great shots.
